The Pista Manual project is a grass-roots project that has seen limited exploration by a previous operator. This work identified stockwork mineralization in a number of zones in the northwest part of the concession as well as a number of soil geochemical targets in the central part of the concession.
Brazilian Gold's exploration program will focus on evaluating these targets and if warranted will test them by drilling in 2011.
Ownership
- Brazilian Gold owns 100% of the project subject to a 1.5% NSR that can be purchase for US$1.5 million.
Land
- One exploration concession for a total area of 2,932.2 Ha.
History
- Unknown, garimpeiro mining of alluvials and saprolite.
- 2009, mining company completes soil and rock geochemistry and trenching.
Description
- The property is underlain by granites and felsic volcanic rocks that host quartz veins and quartz+sulphide stockwork zones.
- Vein and stockwork systems have locally been exploited by small scale garimpeiro activity.
- The vein systems strike northeast and northwest, dip steeply and are associated with silica, potassium feldspar, sericite and chlorite alteration.
2011 Exploration Program
- In Q4 2010, an induced polarization survey (12 km) was completed over Lourinha, Pista Manual and Inferninho vein and stockwork systems. The survey was successful in mapping high chargeability coincident with these vein systems.
- Detailed interpretation of all data and infill soil geochemistry in the central part of the concession is currently in progress.
- Anomalies identified from this work will be prioritized and drill tested if warranted.
